Mallikarjun School
History

In the year 2014, President Mr. Harish Chandra Joshi, keeping the dream of our inspiration Late Mr. Mallikarjun Joshi, started a school in Dharchula under the capable guidance of our former Director Late Mr. Raghubar Dutt Joshi.

The school was started in a rented building with 40 students and grown year by year. In the year 2015-16 the school got its affiliation from the state government up to class 8th. Keeping in mind the backwardness of the rural area and the unavailability of CBSE schools in the nearby area the trust decided to construct the school in Kalika village of tahsil Dharchula, district-Pithoragarh which is situated 7 km away from the town known as Dharchula and 80 kms from district-Pithoragarh. In the year 2017 the school purchased the land near village-Kalika, Dharchula for the construction of the school with registered trust which was named as “Mallikarjun School Society and trust”.

The construction of the building was started and was completed in the year 2019 and the name of the school was given as “Mallikarjun School, Dharchula. At present the total strength of the students is near about 350 and 17 teaching and other non teaching staff.

In the surrounding area of 50 kms there is only one CBSE school therefore in the appeal of the parents and guardians of the students, the trust members of the school decided to start the higher classes i.e 9th to 10th and for that a school needs the permission and affiliation of CBSE. So it is cordially requested that it will be considered by, so that in the future the school will be identified as Senior Secondary School.

Who We Are

Our inspiration

“Education is the basis of all progress. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.”
J krishnamurti

The Mallikarjun Group of institutions has been founded on the fond memory of Late Sri Mallikarjun Joshi.

Mr. Joshi dreamt of an educated and aware society where he believed that the future belongs to those who are inquires, knowledgeable, thinkers, principled, effective communicators, open minded, risk takers and reflective. He dreamt of individuals who could contribute to make this world a better place for the generations to come.

We, at the Mallikarjun group of institutions, aim to fulfill his dreams by living up to all his believes and expectations.

Responsibility

In the last three decades American educators have been heavily concerned with student rights and equal educational opportunity. These and other concerns have caused educators (and the public) to give teachers the primary responsibility for student learning and have drawn attention away from questions about the student’s responsibility for learning.

Two recent approaches attribute the ultimate responsibility for learning to the student. These general approaches are constructively criticized so that the key insights can be used to set and articulate a defensible theory of student responsibility. The major conclusion is that high-school students have both aright to an education and responsibility to use educational resources sensibly
